Separate Web Hosting and Domain Name Providers

It is wise to register your domain name with a top-level registrar (GoDaddy.com) and your web hosting service (Lonex.com) with someone else.

The reason so is to minimize your risk to a single point of failure.

If you have issues with your web hosting service that can not be resolved to your satisfaction, there may also be a problem getting your domain name transferred to another web hosting company.

With your domain name registered separately with someone else, you can change the DNS pointers to your new web hosting provider in a matter of minutes.
